About Lucinda Curran

Neuro-Affirming Teacher, Literacy Specialist &
Lifelong Champion of Difference.

Hi, I’m Lucinda — a VIT-registered, fully qualified teacher with more than three decades of experience across early childhood, primary, secondary and adult education.

I’m also proud of my multiple neurodivergences (I’m “neurospicy” – as I prefer to call it).

I know what it’s like to think differently, process the world in vivid ways, and sometimes feel like an outsider.

That’s why I’ve dedicated my work to supporting children, teens and adults who learn differently — helping them grow confidence, skills, and self-belief.

A Gentle, Neuro-Affirming Approach

I believe every brain is beautifully unique. My tutoring is always:

  • Neuro-affirming: no “fixing” — just embracing how your child (or you!) naturally learn best.
  • Strengths-based: building on what’s already working, to make new growth feel easier.
  • Relaxed & enjoyable: because safe, happy brains learn best.

Credentials that Keep You (and Your Child) Safe

  • Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
(so you know Lucinda meets the highest professional standards — and no Working With Children Check needed).
  • Member of the Australian Tutoring Association (ATA).
  • Nominated for a Teacher’s Guild Award for Excellence in 2000.

Qualifications

I hold multiple degrees and certifications in literacy, education, adult training, and coaching, including:

  • Master of Arts (Children’s Literature)
  • Bachelor of Arts
  • Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood)
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (plus several other Cert IVs across business & small business)
  • Bachelor of Health Science
(and more — my lifelong learning list is delightfully long — it’s one of my special interests).

This deep training means I can meet each student exactly where they are, with tailored, evidence-informed support.

Beyond the Classroom

I’m also a creativity lover, published author, sound healer and radiance coach.

Everything I do comes back to helping people embrace who they truly are — quirks, differences, and all.
